Our Story
Mission
Every dyslexic learner deserves access to patient, personalised, evidence-based reading support. Dyslexia.ai exists to make that a reality — regardless of geography, income, or school resources.
Origin
Kevin Murphy was diagnosed with dyslexia at age 7. He went on to become a computer scientist and software engineer, but never forgot what it felt like to struggle with reading while the world moved on. In 2018, he started building Lexy as a solo project in Dublin — the tool he wished he'd had growing up. Seven years later, it's used in 120+ countries by families, teachers, and occupational therapists.
How It Works
Lexy uses multisensory structured literacy — the Orton-Gillingham approach recommended by the International Dyslexia Association. Students interact through voice, touch, and typing simultaneously, building multiple neural pathways for reading. Google's Gemini AI generates fresh, personalised content for every session, adapting difficulty based on phoneme-level performance tracking. The result: learning that feels like play, with the rigour of clinical intervention.

What People Say
From App Store reviews (4.4/5, 459 reviews)
"I recently started using this app with 3 of my young therapy patients...the recent updates have pushed me over the edge. I really like using this! I especially like the new option to choose the level of difficulty."
Lance — Occupational Therapist
"Daughter is about to start year 7 (age 11). This app is great as it's the only thing I've found that isn't aimed at just younger children and you can do the short tests to see what level you should be playing at. So she isn't losing interest."
Jane — Parent
"Really great app. So glad I found it. My son uses it every day and has made real progress with his reading confidence. The voice feature is brilliant."
